It can often feel like trying to find the right career is a never ending journey. And in some ways it is. Unless you’ve always known what you want to be, since you were a little kid, it’s hard to figure out just what kind of career will satisfy you the most. Even when you do find something you love, it can soon get stale. As we change and grow, we can often find that our ideal career choices do too. So how are you meant to find one that sticks? Although there are a lot of ways to work out what career could be right for you, here are a few creative alternatives that could also be a lot of fun.

Discover Yourself

Sometimes, you need to know yourself a little bit better in order to discover what kind of career is right for you. But it’s often quite difficult to really understand who you are as a person, what kind of environments you like, and how you flourish the most. So, it can be a good idea to rediscover yourself with something like the avatar path. That way, when you start to understand yourself better, you will also be able to work out what you really want from a career.

Ask For Feedback

You could also think to ask those who know you what they think. It’s hard to be objective when it comes to yourself as a person, but those closest to you often know you a lot better than you know yourself. So, ask your friends or family what kind of job they think you should do. They may not be able to suggest a specific job role, but they could point you in the right direction or rule out options that would definitely wrong for you.

Do A Personality Quiz

Although they’re often only a bit of fun, you might want to have a go at a few online quizzes. Yes, you can find, ‘what career is right for you’ style quizzes online, but you may benefit more from doing those that indicate more about your personality. You may then be able to decide if you should work in a team based role, in an office, outside, in a large firm, and other different variables.

Look At Your Passions

Another thing that can help you to decide is often your passions. When you have a hobby that suits your personality, it can often be something you’re good at or put a lot of effort into. So, why not see if you can transfer that into a career choice? You might want to work with animals or books, teach or construct things, but only your hobby can point that out.

Process Of Elimination

And if none of those options work, why not try to find the answer the old fashioned way – but with a twist. Put a whole bunch of jobs down on a piece of paper, screw them up and put them into a hat. Now, start to pull them out. If the first one makes you pull a face, toss it aside and pick again. Repeat this process until you find a career choice that makes you smile – because that could really be the one. Sometimes, the process of elimination is a great way to find out what you really want.
